    We are planning to bring together our local patients and the public with Harrow GPs, pharmacists, community health services, voluntary sector and Harrow Council commissioners and service providers to describe and discuss how we want to experience local GP services in the future; as a patient, as someone working in General Practice and as the wider health and care system interacting with it.

  6. Dr Genevieve Small takes up role as new Chair of NHS Harrow CCG

    Dr Genevieve Small has taken up the key role of Chair of NHS Harrow CCG from Dr Amol Kelshiker, who has been Chair since the inception of the CCG in 2013. The CCG is responsible for planning and buying many of the health services used by people who are registered with GPs in the borough.

  7. Bank Holiday weekend

    24 August 2018

    Ahead of the bank holiday this weekend, patients in North West London are asked to make sure their medicine cabinets are fully stocked and they have their prescription medications. Many minor illnesses and injuries can be treated easily at home if you are prepared.

    Some healthcare services will also be open for people that need advice or access to healthcare over the weekend.

  8. Changes to the Alexandra Avenue Health Centre

    23 August 2018

    From 1 November 2018, patients will need to book their appointment before arriving at the Alexandra Health Care Centre. GP appointments will be available 8am-8pm seven days a week. Booking is easy as patients can simply contact their GP surgery or call NHS 111 who will find them the next available appointment.

  10. Review of asthma attacks in children and young people leads to fewer admissions to hospital


    2 August 2018

    Hospital admissions for children and young people were reduced by 16% after practices in Harrow took on board the lessons learned from a review of 291 children and young people who had had asthma attacks. Simple but effective lessons such as providing education on recognising attacks and checking inhaler technique resulted in approximately 30 less children and young people (per 100,000) being admitted to hospital between 2015/16 and 2016/17.
