Safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility and Harrow CCG has arrangements in place to safeguard and protect the wellbeing of children and young people. We strive to be compliant with our statutory duties as per Section 11 of the Children Act 2004.
If you have any concerns about a child then a referral should be completed and sent to MASH (Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub).
Harrow CCG is one of the strategic partners in the new Safeguarding Arrangements and safeguarding children and young people remains a priority for all commissioned services.
Children Looked After
Most children and young people become looked after as a result of abuse or neglect. Their health needs, both physical and mental, although similar to their peers, are often exacerbated because of their past experiences. Delays in identifying and addressing these health needs can have a considerable impact on their long-term health outcomes.
Harrow CCG is committed to improving health outcomes for children looked after and has a dedicated service to ensure their needs are met whether they are placed in the borough of Harrow or in another borough.
Safeguarding children team
The team is available for advice and support for both health professionals and our partner agencies. Our aim is to ensure that safeguarding children concerns are responded to appropriately and all professionals feel supported in their duty of care to protect children and young people.
