Urgent treatment centres

What are urgent treatment centres?

Urgent treatment centres (UTCs) are an alternative to A&E. They are centres which treat minor injuries and illness requiring urgent treatment that cannot be seen by your registered GP.

Where’s my nearest UTC?

The following urgent treatment centre is located nearby to Harrow:

Northwick Park Hospital Urgent Treatment Centre
Watford Road
Opening times: 24 hours a day, seven days a week
Tel: 020 8864 3232

What conditions do they treat?

Urgent Treatment Centres can treat:

  • sprains and strains
  • broken bones
  • wound infections
  • minor burns and scalds
  • minor head injuries
  • insect and animal bites
  • minor eye injuries
  • injuries to the back, shoulder and chest

On arrival at the urgent treatment centre you will be assessed and treated in order of the priority of your condition.

If you are seriously ill, you will be referred to the emergency department which is located next to the urgent treatment centre.
