About Harrow and Hillingdon Posture and Mobility Service
The Opcare Posture and Mobility Service based in Harrow and Hillingdon works in partnership with the NHS, delivering a wheelchair service for both children and adults needing long-term postural and mobility support. The service supports patients throughout their pathway and care, from assessment to the provision and maintenance of equipment.
The service is comprised of a team of healthcare professionals looking after each patient – with specialised occupational therapists, rehabilitation engineers and physiotherapists. The team work to ensure patients are as mobile, comfortable and independent as possible.
Harrow and Hillingdon Posture and Mobility Service offers a wide range of equipment which can be prescribed to patients, including manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, or other specialist seating devices. Emergency wheelchair repairs are available 24/7 to ensure continuous support for users.
Personal Wheelchair Budgets
A Personal Wheelchair Budget (PWB) is a national scheme offered to provide a wider choice for those needing to use a wheelchair. This scheme is available through the Harrow and Hillingdon wheelchair service, and is explained to patients during the assessment process.
